Profibe contains water soluble fibers clinically proven to be beneficial in dietary programs designed to lower cholesterol. Such fibers are found in fruits and vegetables. Contains protein. A study of more than 200 patients has shown ProFibe lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol between 25% and 30% in just four weeks. Glucose tolerance in diabetics improved by an average of 40 mg/dl. When ProFibe was used conjuctively with cholesterol lowering prescription medication in patients suffering from chronically high cholesterol (300-400 mg/dl), cholesterol dropped to near normal (200 mg/dl or less) in 15 days. This is the first conjunctive study ever done. It proved water soluble fibers channel differently than prescription medication (ie. Mevacor, Lopid, Lovastatin, etc.). Atherosclerosis regression has been reported by patients under a doctors care. The average regression was 40% after being on ProFibe for nine months.

Profibe is still the best natural supplement on the market for reducing cholesterol. I have taken it off and on over the past 2 years. Every time I take it for about 3 months, my cholesterol is reduced. I also have my doctor trusting in this stuff. The taste is not so great and at times can be quite hard to swallow but I will take it considering the alternative of medication.

I am a 51 year old male that has a strong predisposition to heart attacks (my brother had one at 40) and stroke (my father had multiple strokes before he was 50). My doctor had prescribed high doses of Lipitor to control my LDL cholesterol, but I was scared of the side effects (liver damage). Interestingly enough, I was taking ProFibe for almost a year and my cholesterol level, specifically my LDL level, was normal (below 100). I went without taking the product for almost 6 months without any dietary change or change in exercise habits. I was just in to the doctor last month for a yearly physical and my LDL level was 146. OUCH! I'm back on the ProFibe and hoping that it will once again come to my rescue and prevent me from having to take prescription statins, which I know can have very harmful side effects over time, causing liver and muscle disorders.
